I’ve been a California Litigation Paralegal for the last 25 years.  I know the business.  Last year I was sued by a debt buyer for a significant amount.  I shopped extensively for attorneys, and hired Ian.  I’m so very glad I did!  If you get sued by a debt buyer, don’t even try to deal with them on your own.  Just call Ian Chowdhury.  You will be glad you did.

Ian was great! He got my $22,000 lawsuit filed against me dismissed for $0 payment to the collection agency. Ian knows the loopholes and how to deal with these parasite collection agencies. Highly recommended.  Some of these other attorneys will tell you to settle, but Ian will fight for you by filing an answer to the lawsuit. Thanks again Ian, you’re the BEST!!!

After getting sued by a debt collector for a debt, I researched how to fill out a response and found Ian’s web site.  I found the website very useful and this enabled me to file an initial response.  Fast forward almost 1 year, and now I find out there is a trial date coming up within a few weeks. I was never notified by the court about the scheduled trial date until I received a “notice to appear” from law firm “M”,  hence I had to scramble at the last minute and figure out what to do.  Nine days before the scheduled trial, I contacted Ian for a phone consultation and despite being under a handicap with no time to use normal lawyer tactics, he took the case and would represent me at trial.  Five days before the trial, law firm “M” sent me 60-70 pages of legal paperwork with “evidence” and “witnesses” they intended to use at the trial.  I faxed this stuff over to Ian, and he said there was a good chance he could settle this with ZERO payment.  His reasons were simple, he knew their “witness” from previous cases and he knew the opposing lawyers, hence this great knowledge worked to my benefit.  On Wednesday, five days before trial, Ian offered to settle with law firm “M” for ZERO.  The next day (Thursday), four days before the scheduled trial, the case was settled in my favor for NOTHING.  I did not have to pay a cent.  I cannot thank Ian enough for a great job under real time pressure and such short notice.   After I hired Ian, he told me there was a good chance he could settle this for ZERO or beat them at trial for ZERO.  Ian’s confidence was spot on, and his great expertise and knowledge of collection law enabled me to put this behind me.  I encourage anyone reading this to hire Ian, and protect yourself from these predator lawsuits.

The last two years, I have been trying to re-establish my life after becoming a victim of identity theft. When I thought things couldn’t get any worse, I was served with a lawsuit from a debt collection agency. Luckily for me, I was referred to Ian while requesting services on another matter.

Mr. Chowdhury had my $30,000 debt dismissed. Not many people/attorneys are excellent at what they do.  Mr. Chowdhury is.  He is honest, forthright and effective. He was my Obi-Wan Kenobi in my legal fight. I highly recommend him.

I can’t say enough about how awesome it was to work with Ian. He was very upfront and honest about options and possible outcomes and it is clear that he truly enjoys helping people work through these very stressful situations. If you are being sued and don’t know where to turn, Ian is your guy and he is worth every penny. After reading several of these positive reviews, I retained Ian after being served with a sizable debt collection lawsuit.  We had a clear and candid conversation laying out my options, and while no lofty promises were made, it was clear that letting Mr Chowdhury fight the case was the best route to take.  He was able to get a response filed on my behalf within a very tight timeline, and the calls & letters stopped immediately.  10 months later, I was delighted to hear the plaintiff had filed a dismissal, as they likely were not prepared for a contested case!  

Ian was very professional and attentive, informing me of every step along the way, and we arrived at the best possible scenario.  I highly recommend Ian for any of your debt [defense] legal needs.

I worked with Ian on a pair of cases that happened near simultaneously.  I really value good and honest communication, and got that with Ian.  He was upfront and clear about the potential hazards our particular cases faced, and that there was a good chance we would not end up with what I like to call “as seen on TV (results not typical)” result.

That said, it was clear Ian would make the plantiff cross every T and dot every I.  He was not about to let them get away with a “form” lawsuit (and believe me, that’s what these were… in one of the cases the plaintiff actually filed for a default judgement a week after Ian filed our response!)

One of the great things about working with Ian is that it just takes the burden away.  You don’t have to try and educate yourself to quickly being a lawyer yourself, and phone calls, letters, etc…. just go away.  For what was happening in our lives, that alone was worth it.

In the end we actually got an extremely favorable result, which made things all the sweeter.  Regardless, I wouldn’t hesitate to use Ian again or recommend him to friends and family should they ever need his services (hopefully not!  sorry Ian! 🙂 )

I received a collection debt lawsuit from one of the more aggressive unforgiving agencies and thought I could resolve it myself. I soon learned that this is a big mistake and found myself getting deeper into trouble. I called Ian and within months the lawsuit was dismissed and any blemish related to it was removed from my credit reports. Trust me, I felt the negative stressful emotions of being sued immediately upon being served at my front door. After Calling Ian and agreeing to his easily manageable terms those feelings were gone just as quick. I’m telling you call Ian and remove that horrible stress you are feeling, its not healthy.
